However, after analysing over 2 million km of data and 2.3 billion individual data points in 37 countries, we’ve actually discovered that only 50% of drivers are above average and shockingly 50% of drivers are below average. Apparently this is how averages work… But if you really want to know how good a driver you are, GOFAR has now released a global leaderboard so you can see exactly how you stack up against drivers from all around the world. GETTING STARTED WITH THE LEADERBOARD First make sure you’re on the latest version of the app, then click on the new “cup” icon. CHECK OUT THE COMPETITION The leader board shows the current Top 10 from anywhere in the world. You can see the car and engine size if you click on anyone in the top 10, but as the leader board is based on the smoothness of driving as opposed to economy, you can still top the league even in a less economical or more powerful vehicle, as long as you are driving in an attentive and smooth fashion. SEE WHERE YOU RANK AMONG GOFAR USERS Your position is shown at the bottom of the leader board screen, with the driver above and below. Everyone’s score is determined by combining their acceleration and braking scores. We find acceleration is a good measure of aggression (or calmness, depending on perspective) whilst braking measures anticipation extremely well. Both calmness and anticipation are extremely valuable when driving safely and efficiently. Despite all my practice and being the first car with GOFAR I’m now just barely hanging on to the Top 100! Click on any driver to see their car type. Could be handy if you’re looking for a new vehicle! NOT THE BEST DRIVER YET? THERE’S ALWAYS NEXT WEEK! The Weekly Leader board is just that – weekly. So, if you’ve lost your position at the top of the table because of one poor drive, don’t worry. The scores are calculated on drives over the past 7 days, so stay focused and drive smooth and see if you get to the top next week. Curious about how you rank?
